Report: Sampdoria to move for Matteo Rubin

Sampdoria are reportedly preparing a bid for Siena defender Matteo Rubin.

The 26-year-old, who joined Siena from Torino in 2012, has been linked with a number of clubs this summer as he attempts to secure a return to Serie A.

According to Il Secolo XIX, his availability has attracted the interest of Sampdoria, who finished 14th in the table last season.

Rubin underwent surgery on his knee in the summer.
