Ross County edge out Dundee United

Ross County move up to fourth place in the Scottish Premier League table thanks to a 1-0 win over Dundee United at Victoria Park.

Ross County have climbed up to fourth place in the Scottish Premier League table thanks to a 1-0 victory over Dundee United at Victoria Park.

The only goal of the game came in the 54th minute when Ivan Sproule headed in at the back post.

Dundee finished the game with 10 men after Barry Douglas was sent off with 65 minutes on the clock for a high challenge on Sproule.

Richard Brittain nearly made it 2-0 midway through the second half, but his strike came back off the crossbar.

County will drop back down to fifth spot on Saturday if St Johnstone defeat Inverness Caledonian Thistle.
