Roma fail with bid for Schalke 04 defender Sead Kolasinac

Schalke 04 have rejected a bid from Roma for defender Sead Kolasinac.

The Giallorossi are understood to be looking for a left-back following Jose Holebas's move to Watford.

Meanwhile, Ashley Cole appears to be out of coach Rudi Garcia's plans for the new season at the Stadio Olimpico.

"Roma has issued an offer for Sead Kolasinac. We have met together and rejected it," Schalke general manager Horst Heldt is quoted as saying by Goal.com.

Bosnia-Herzegovina international Kolasinac has been linked with the likes of Arsenal and Manchester United during the past 18 months.
