A strike from Ruben Garica hands Levante the victory from their trip to Real Zaragoza.

Ruben Garcia scored the only goal of the game to give Levante all three points from their trip to Levante this afternoon.

Visiting Levante started the encounter brightly and struck the post in the 13th minute through Jose Bakero, who was played in by Michel.

However, just six minutes later the away side did go in front. Michel picked out Garcia inside the penalty area and the Spanish midfielder sent the ball beyond the reach of Roberto Gago in the home goal.

Former Tottenham Hotspur striker Helder Postiga had Zaragoza's best chance to draw level before the break, but he drove his shot straight at Gustavo Munua from close range.

Hosting Zaragoza had numerous chances after the restart to claim a share of the spoils, but they failed to convert any of those.

Edu Oriol had the best opportunity, but he shot wide of the target with just Munua to beat.

In the closing stages Levante defender Christian Lell was handed his marching orders for committing his second bookable offence.

The win has moved Levante up to fifth in the La Liga table.
