Vinicius Junior reportedly agrees a new contract at Real Madrid, with an announcement from the club expected to arrive once the La Liga campaign has finished.

Vinicius Junior has reportedly agreed a new contract at Real Madrid, with an announcement from the Spanish and European champions expected to arrive once the 2024-25 La Liga campaign has concluded.

There has been a host of speculation surrounding the attacker's future in recent months, as there has been serious interest from the Saudi Pro League in the 24-year-old.

Vinicius's performances in the big matches this season have been called into question, but he has still had another excellent campaign for the club, scoring 20 times and registering 14 assists in the process.

According to AS, Real Madrid have come to an agreement with Los Blancos over a new contract until June 2030, with the capital giants not entertaining the possibility of losing the forward.

The report claims that Vinicius will surpass Kylian Mbappe to become the highest-paid player in the squad, which will earn him in the region of €100m (£85m) after tax between 2025 and 2030.

Vinicius 'agrees lucrative new deal at Real Madrid'

It is understood that, despite the speculation, Vinicius has never considered leaving Real Madrid, with the attacker not prepared to make the move to the Saudi Pro League at this stage of his career.

Vinicius was allegedly offered €1bn (£850m) over five years by an unnamed Saudi Pro League outfit, but the ex-Flamengo youngster rejected the move, as he had always intended to sign a new contract at Bernabeu.

Real Madrid have secured one trophy this season, lifting the UEFA Super Cup last August, but they fell short in the Champions League and Copa del Rey, while the team have serious work to do in La Liga.

Ahead of Sunday's El Clasico, Real Madrid sit four points behind division leaders Barcelona, so a defeat would leave the reigning champions in an incredibly difficult position with three games left.

Mbappe, Vinicius, Bellingham to lead Real Madrid charge

Real Madrid are said to be intending to build their next team around Mbappe, Vinicius and Jude Bellingham, with all three viewed as absolutely vital to the club's plans moving forward.

There will be changes this summer, with Luka Modric and Lucas Vazquez likely to leave on free transfers, while a new centre-back is expected to arrive, potentially in addition to a central midfielder.

Real Madrid are also preparing to change their manager this summer, with Bayer Leverkusen head coach Xabi Alonso widely expected to replace Carlo Ancelotti at the helm, likely in time for the Club World Cup in the middle of June.
