Antonio Adan sent off for Real Madrid

Real Madrid's number two goalkeeper Antonio Adan was handed a straight red card during his team's clash with Real Sociedad this afternoon.

The 25-year-old had been installed into the starting lineup in front of Iker Casillas, who has fallen out of favour with coach Jose Mourinho.

However, Casillas's services were required with just six minutes played when Adan was handed his marching orders for bringing down former Arsenal striker Carlos Vela inside the area.

Spain's number one keeper Casillas was unable to stop the resultant penalty, which was converted by Sociedad captain Xabi Prieto.
