Real Madrid team news: Injury, suspension list vs. Getafe

Sports Mole rounds up Real Madrid's latest injury and suspension news ahead of Saturday's La Liga clash with Getafe.

Real Madrid will play their first match of 2020 on Saturday as they travel to Getafe in Spain's top flight.

Los Blancos entered the winter break in Spain off the back of three straight La Liga draws, which left them second in the table, two points off leaders Barcelona.

Zinedine Zidane's side have only lost one of their 18 league matches during the 2019-20 campaign, although seven draws has cost them the chance to lead the division at this stage of the season.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up Madrid's latest injury and suspension news ahead of this weekend's clash in the Spanish capital.

Marco Asensio

Possible return date: Unknown

Marco Asensio faces a battle to play again this season after suffering a serious knee injury during the team's preparations for the 2019-20 campaign. A timeframe on his return has not yet been set by the club.

Possible return date: January 4 (vs. Getafe)

James Rodriguez, who continues to be linked with a move away from the Bernabeu, has not turned out for Madrid since October 22 due to a knee injury. The Colombia international has recently returned to full training, though, and could be fit to play a part against Getafe.

Lucas Vazquez
