Cristiano Ronaldo's record vs. Barcelona

Cristiano Ronaldo's record vs. Barcelona

Real Madrid forward Cristiano Ronaldo will be looking to return to scoring ways when his side travel to Barcelona on Sunday evening.

The Portugal international has fired blanks in Los Blancos' last two matches, both against Bayern Munich, having previously netted in 12 successive games.

Ronaldo, who has 26 goals in 19 matches since the turn of the year, now has the chance to inflict a first La Liga defeat of the season on Barca.

Here, Sports Mole takes a closer look at the Ballon d'Or contender's scoring stats against El Clasico rivals Barcelona.

Ronaldo fired blanks in his first three meetings with the Catalan giants, each in the Champions League with former club Manchester United, and it took him until the fourth attempt to get off the mark in La Liga.

In fact, by his own high standards, the Portuguese's return of eight goals in 17 league encounters is a little underwhelming, scoring just once in the last five of those.

Overall Ronaldo has 17 goals in 32 meetings with this weekend's opponents, the most recent of which came in a 3-1 win for his side at Camp Nou right at the start of the campaign in a feisty Supercopa clash that also saw the 33-year-old given an extended suspension.

In eight trips to Camp Nou in the Spanish top flight, Ronaldo has scored five times, including what proved to be a late winner in this corresponding fixture two years ago.
