Team News: Toni Kroos fit to start for Real Madrid against Paris Saint-Germain

Toni Kroos fit to start for Real Madrid against PSG

Toni Kroos is in the Real Madrid XI for Wednesday's Champions League last-16 second leg with Paris Saint-Germain, having been passed fit to return from a hamstring problem.

The German emerged as a major doubt for the European contest after picking up a hamstring issue, which forced him to miss the 4-1 win over Real Sociedad in La Liga at the weekend.

However, Kroos has been passed fit to start, with Real Madrid looking to recover from a 1-0 first-leg defeat to PSG to reach the quarter-finals of the European Cup.

Federico Valverde is also back in the squad and starts, having recovered from illness, with Casemiro missing the match through suspension.

Ferland Mendy is also banned for Los Blancos tonight, which has opened the door for Nacho to come into the back four, with David Alaba seemingly set to start at left-back.

There are no surprises in the final third of the field, with Karim Benzema operating as the centre-forward, while Vinicius Junior and Marco Asensio will play in the wide positions.

Eden Hazard, Lucas Vazquez, Gareth Bale, Rodrygo and Eduardo Camavinga are among the substitutes for the home side this evening.
