Rangers striker Nicky Clark wary of Queen of the South threat

Rangers forward Nicky Clark downplays the notion that his side are odds-on to defeat Queen of the South in their Scottish Premiership playoff.

Rangers striker Nicky Clark has warned his teammates against complacency ahead of their Scottish Premiership playoff clash with Queen of the South.

The Gers take a 2-1 lead into Sunday's second leg at Ibrox, but the forward was quick to downplay the notion that they are the favourites against his former club.

"We got to them and stopped them playing. It worked well as we got the 2-1 victory," he told reporters. "It is only half time though and we know what we need to do on Sunday. The gaffer will make sure we are ready for it.

"When I was there a few years ago we had a good squad and they've kept most of it together. They all know each other really well and their performances have been really good. Even last year they got to the playoffs and they've done it again this year.

"Are we favourites to go through? You could say that but we don't look at anything like that. We know what we need to do and the gaffer knows what we need to do to get through the game."

The winner of the tie will face Hibernian in the semi-finals of the playoffs.
