Carlo Ancelotti declares his PSG side "ready for Ligue 1"

Carlo Ancelotti says that PSG are ready to fight for the Ligue 1 title this season.

Carlo Ancelotti has declared his Paris Saint-Germain side "ready for Ligue 1".

PSG played out a 2-2 draw with Barcelona yesterday before ultimately being beat on penalties in a pre-season friendly, and the former Chelsea and Milan boss Ancelotti thinks that his side are fully prepared for the forthcoming season.

"I think the team is ready for Ligue 1," said the Italian.

"We need to keep working hard, but tonight was an important chance to gauge our own quality against a very strong side. We've done some excellent hard work and physically we're in good condition."

The big-spending Parisians kick off the new campaign against Lorient on August 10.
