Striker joins Preston for pre-season training

Preston have invited former Sheffield Wednesday and Charlton Athletic striker Akpo Sodje to pre-season training ahead of a possible move.

Sky Sports News understands that Preston are interested in signing the 32-year-old after he was released by Chinese Super League side Tianjin Teda.

Sodje will attempt to impress Preston boss Graham Westley while training with the Deepdale club, with the possibility of proving his worth during a friendly.

A number of clubs from abroad are also said to be keen on Sodje's signature.
