Port Vale ran riot at Fleetwood Town to grab the headlines on a busy night of action in League Two.

Tom Pope and Louis Dodds both bagged braces as Vale moved up to second in the table with a 5-2 win at Highbury.

Gillingham maintained their unbeaten start, beating Southend United by a solitary goal from Danny Kedwell to stay top.

Exeter City were forced to come from behind twice to claim a 3-2 result at home to lowly Wycombe Wanderers, with veteran striker Jamie Cureton once again on the scoresheet.

Chesterfield moved into the top half with a dramatic late win against Accrington Stanley.

Terrell Forbes scored the winner six minutes from time to claim all three points in a 4-3 thriller.

Barnet remain rooted to the foot of the table, without a win this season after losing 1-0 at Aldershot Town.

Dagenham and Redbridge are also yet to record a victory after going down to a single-goal defeat at home to Northampton Town.

Elsewhere there were wins for Torquay United, Bradford City and Cheltenham Town, with Plymouth Argyle held at home by Bristol Rovers.
