Port Vale hit Fleetwood Town for five in action-packed night of League One matches.

Port Vale ran riot at Fleetwood Town to grab the headlines on a busy night of action in League Two.

Tom Pope and Louis Dodds both bagged braces as Vale moved up to second in the table with a 5-2 win at Highbury.

Gillingham maintained their unbeaten start, beating Southend United by a solitary goal from Danny Kedwell to stay top.

Exeter City were forced to come from behind twice to claim a 3-2 result at home to lowly Wycombe Wanderers, with veteran striker Jamie Cureton once again on the scoresheet.

Chesterfield moved into the top half with a dramatic late win against Accrington Stanley.

Terrell Forbes scored the winner six minutes from time to claim all three points in a 4-3 thriller.

Barnet remain rooted to the foot of the table, without a win this season after losing 1-0 at Aldershot Town.

Dagenham and Redbridge are also yet to record a victory after going down to a single-goal defeat at home to Northampton Town.

Rotherham United lost their first match at the New York Stadium after a late collapse against Rochdale.

Despite leading 2-1 with 15 minutes to play, goals from Michael Grant and Kevin McIntyre turned the game round for Dale.

Elsewhere there were wins for Torquay United, Bradford City and Cheltenham Town, with Plymouth Argyle held at home by Bristol Rovers.
