Perth Glory, Western Sydney Wanderers share the points

Mitch Nichols scores 10 minutes from time to secure Western Sydney Wanderers a point in a 2-2 draw with Perth Glory in the A-League.

Western Sydney Wanderers twice came from behind to secure a share of the spoils in a 2-2 draw with Perth Glory in the A-League on Saturday.

Wanderers, despite dropping points, are still top of the A-League table, three points clear of Melbourne City. Perth, meanwhile, remain eighth behind Newcastle Jets.

It took just two minutes for the home side to open the scoring, with former Getafe midfielder Diego Castro converting from the penalty spot after the Spaniard had been brought down inside the box by Andrew Redmayne.

The visitors had a half-chance to level through Dario Vidosic in the minutes that followed, but it was Brendon Santalab that levelled the scores in the 20th minute when he converted a corner from Scott Jamieson.

Wanderers pushed for the game's third goal early in the second period, but Perth led on the hour when Mitchell Oxborrow netted his first of the season from a free kick.

The visitors once again levelled in the 81st minute, however, when Mitch Nichols was afforded too much space inside the box and he picked out the top corner with a well-placed effort.

Wanderers have not been beaten in the league since the end of October.
