Derby County edge past Nuneaton Town

Derby County managed to edge past Nuneaton Town this evening, beating the Conference Premier side 2-1.

After a goalless first half, Jamie Ward put the visiting Rams ahead on 51 minutes.

The Championship side doubled their advantage on 77 minutes, Mason Bennett providing the goal.

The home side managed to get a goal back a minute from time through Nick Wright, but Derby held on for the win.

Derby host Rotherham at Pride Park on the opening day of the new season.
