Richards to step down as PL chairman

Sir Dave Richards has said that he is to end his 15-year reign as chairman of the Premier League.

Sheffield-born Richards, 68, is also currently the vice-chairman of the Football Association, chairman of the International Committee and an Executive Board member and president of the European Professional Football Leagues body.

"I have been chairman for 15 years, since the first day the Premier League started," he told ESPN. "And there are not too many people in football can say they've seen as many changes as I have done."

Richards is one of the key figures behind the Premier League and FA's drive for increased financial fair play in the modern game.
