Mills rules out B team league

Danny Mills has said that the Football Association are not planning the introduction of a B team league.

There had been reports earlier this week of a competition involving the B teams of Premier League and Championship clubs that would play between League Two and the Conference.

"B teams are on the agenda but not a B team league," Mills told BBC Radio 5 live. "We have spoken to everybody involved who this affects.

"Do you really think we would come to the table with a proposal that hadn't been discussed with the Premier League, the Football League and the Conference?

"We have looked into Europe, and every major league has some sort of structure of B teams within the league. They can't all be wrong."

Former Leeds United and Manchester City defender Mills made 19 appearances for England and played at the 2002 World Cup.
