Rangers boss Kenny McDowall bemoans poor finishing

Rangers boss Kenny McDowall believes that a lack of composure in attack cost his side during their 1-1 draw with Falkirk.

Rangers boss Kenny McDowall has admitted that poor finishing cost his side during Friday's 1-1 draw with Falkirk.

The Gers missed the chance to move up to second place in the Scottish Championship table last night as they were forced to share the spoils at Falkirk Stadium.

Despite an improved performance from his players in the second half, McDowall believes that a lack of composure up front played a big part in the result.

"I was disappointed with our play in the last third tonight and I felt that we could have done better and made better use of the ball," he told the club's official website.

"We are disappointed to not win the game, but in saying that we never played well enough to win the game, especially in the first half. Our use of the ball in the first half wasn't as good as it has been in the past couple of weeks.

"I felt that in the second half we did a little better and dug in. We said to them at half time that they needed to get the faces of Falkirk a little more and get closer to people and I think they did that in the second half."

Rangers are back in action next Saturday when they make the trip to Cowdenbeath in the league.
