Sports Mole rounds up Saturday's League One action, where Sheffield Wednesday took a giant leap to automatic promotion while Rochdale were condemned to League Two next season.

Sheffield Wednesday climbed above cross-city rivals Sheffield United in the battle for promotion as they beat Carlisle United 2-1 at Hillsborough this afternoon.

Michail Antonio's stoppage-time winner saw Dave Jones's side snatch the points and move into second spot at the expense of United, who were beaten 1-0 by MK Dons.

Charlton Athletic had already secured Championship football next season prior to kickoff but they extended their lead at the top of the table with a 2-1 win over Wycombe Wanderers.

Meanwhile, Rochdale were condemned to relegation as they fell to a 2-1 defeat to Chesterfield, who survive for another week with victory.

Exeter also avoided the drop for now as they came from behind to beat fellow strugglers Walsall 4-2, while Leyton Orient secured their safety with a 2-2 draw against Yeovil Town.

League One results: Bournemouth 1-1 Colchester United; Charlton Athletic 2-1 Wycombe Wanderers; Chesterfield 2-1 Rochdale; Exeter City 4-2 Walsall; Huddersfield Town 1-0 Scunthorpe United; Leyton Orient 2-2 Yeovil Town; MK Dons 1-0 Sheffield United; Notts County 2-4 Bury Town; Oldham Athletic 1-1 Preston North End; Sheffield Wednesday 2-1 Carlisle United; Stevenage 2-1 Brentford; Tranmere Rovers 1-1 Hartlepool United.
