Indian footballer dies on pitch

A footballer has tragically died after suffering a suspected cardiac arrest while playing in India.

Bangalore Mars player Venkatesh, 28, collapsed ahead of his side's clash with SW Railway, with no ambulance crew on hand.

Venkatesh's teammates hired an auto rickshaw to take him to hospital, but he was pronounced dead on arrival.

The exact cause of death is not yet known.
