This month's Hampshire Cup final between Eastleigh FC and AFC Totton will be the first live football match to trial the Hawk-Eye goalline technology system.
Hawk-Eye is currently being tested alongside the GoalRef system by the the International Football Association Board (IFAB).
However, only a EMPA (Swiss Federal Laboratories for Materials Science and Technology) official will be able to use the technology if there is a controversial incident during the game at St Mary's Stadium.
"Only the EMPA observer in the stadium will have access to the goalline technology (GLT) system readings, and the system will NOT be utilised by the match officials," read a FIFA statement.
The two systems will undergo further testing before any potential approvals are made later this year.
