Darlington relegated four divisions

Darlington have been relegated four divisions to the Northern League Division One after failing to pay back club debts.

The Football Association ruled on Friday that the side would be demoted after being unable to reach a Creditors Voluntary Agreement.

After going into administration last season, the DFC 1883 Limited group bought assets from Darlington FC 2009 Limited to secure the club's future.

"The focus now will be to get the football club back up through the leagues as quickly as possible," read a DFC 1883 statement.

Darlington were relegated from the Blue Square Bet Premier last season.
