Report: Newcastle United close in on Jack Colback deal

Newcastle United are reportedly in advanced negotiations with local rivals Sunderland over signing midfielder Jack Colback this summer.

The 24-year-old is reported to have courted interest from a number of clubs but is said to be keen on a switch to St James' Park.

According to Sky Sports News, Colback has agreed personal terms with the Magpies and will undergo a medical in the coming days before signing a long-term deal.

The report goes on to claim that Newcastle are also closing in on the signing of Tenerife striker Ayoze Perez for a fee in the region of £1.8m.
