Newcastle United striker Shola Ameobi has been named in Nigeria's squad for their friendly against Venezuela in Miami, Florida on Wednesday, November 14.
Ameobi received clearance to represent Nigeria last year but has yet to play for the Super Eagles at any level.
The 31-year-old will have a chance to impress Nigeria boss Stephen Keshi ahead of January's Africa Cup of Nations in South Africa.
Keshi has a number of attacking options at his disposal, with Ameobi competing for a starting spot with Premier League pair Victor Moses and Victor Anichebe.
