Report: Stephen McManus close to Motherwell deal

Former Middlesbrough defender Stephen McManus has reportedly agreed a one-year contract with Scottish Premier League outfit Motherwell.

The 30-year-old, who left the Riverside Stadium at the end of last season, has been training with Motherwell since the beginning of the month.

According to Sky Sports News, Stuart McCall has offered the experienced centre-back a contract, which has been accepted by the player.

McManus had previously been strongly linked with a move to Hibernian.
