Gunnar Nielsen leaves Motherwell by mutual consent

Motherwell goalkeeper Gunnar Nielsen leaves the club by mutual consent.

Gunnar Nielsen has left Motherwell by mutual consent.

The goalkeeper made 23 starts in two spells for the club, but failed to make any appearances this season.

Nielsen has deputised for Dan Twardzik this season, and has not been named in any matchday squads since the arrival of 21-year-old loanee George Long in February.

The Faroe Islands number one initially joined Motherwell on loan in 2008, before signing for the club permanently in 2012.

He has made 25 appearances for his country.
