Montreal throw away two-goal lead

Sam Cronin's stoppage-time strike rescued a point for San Jose Earthquakes as they drew 2-2 with Montreal Impact in Major League Soccer today.

The visitors went into half time with a one-goal lead after Justin Mapp fired into the bottom corner from outside the area in the 24th minute.

Montreal doubled their advantage shortly after the break, with Mapp grabbing his second from close range after being lined up by Andrew Wenger.

The Earthquakes' fightback began just before the hour mark when Adam Jahn found the net from close range, turning in Cronin's cutback to make it 2-1.

Just when Montreal appeared to have held out for the win, Cronin smashed Chris Wondolowski's headed pass into the back of the net from the edge of the box to salvage a point.
