Montpellier's Cyril Jeunechamp gets year-long ban

Montpellier defender Cyril Jeunechamp has been give a year-long ban from football after hitting a reporter following a Ligue 1 game last month.

The veteran player struck a L'Equipe journalist in the face after his team's 1-1 league draw at Valenciennes.

Jeunechamp accosted the writer at the Stade Hainaut and started a physical altercation over an article published in the newspaper.

Montpellier had previously apologised to the reporter and condemned the 37-year-old's behaviour.
