Melbourne City midfielder Damien Duff believes that his new side deserved the win in their 1-1 draw with Sydney FC in the A-League

New Melbourne City midfielder Damien Duff has claimed that his side deserved the win against Sydney FC after David Villa scored on his A-League debut in a 1-1 draw.

Former Blackburn Rovers and Chelsea star Duff was involved in his side's equaliser, setting up Villa, who is on loan from New York City.

Duff told reporters after the game: "I think we deserved more out of the game tonight, I think we were the better team but getting the point after going 1-0 down I think fair enough.

"I've been playing at a fast pace for 20 years so it's tough, but I enjoyed every minute of it."

Melbourne City's next league match will be against against Newcastle Jets next Sunday.
