Roma reportedly line up a three-year contract for Napoli forward Dries Mertens, who has also been linked with Chelsea and Manchester United.

Roma are reportedly preparing to offer Napoli forward Dries Mertens a three-year contract.

The 32-year-old's existing deal with Gennaro Gattuso's side will expire at the end of June, meaning that, as it stands, he is available on a free transfer.

Manchester United and Chelsea have both been credited with an interest in the Belgium international, who has scored 12 times and registered six assists in 29 appearances for his Italian side this season.

However, according to Corriere dello Sport, Roma are in a strong position to land the experienced forward as they prepare to put a three-year deal on the table.

Monaco have also been credited with an interest, though, with the principality outfit said to be lining up a lucrative offer worth £7m a year.

Mertens has scored 121 goals in 311 appearances for Napoli in all competitions.
