Report: Manchester United want Gareth Bale, Thomas Muller this summer

Manchester United are reportedly interested in signing forwards Thomas Muller and Gareth Bale before the end of the transfer window.

United had been linked with Pedro following the sale of Angel di Maria to Paris Saint-Germain earlier this summer, but the Spanish winger joined Chelsea on Thursday.

According to The Express, Louis van Gaal is keen to make a marquee signing following criticism from some supporters about failing to add the former Barcelona player to the side.

The report claims that van Gaal is determined to sign Muller and Bale, while the Old Trafford club also have an interest in Atletico Madrid striker Antoine Griezmann and Southampton's Sadio Mane.

United were held to a goalless draw by Newcastle United on Saturday afternoon.
