Man Utd transfer news: Red Devils 'willing to sell' out-of-favour midfielder during January window

'Not part of the plans' - Man Utd 'willing to sell' midfielder in January

Manchester United are reportedly prepared to listen to suitable offers for Manuel Ugarte during the January transfer window.

The Red Devils are set to draw the curtain on the Premier League gameweek for a second week running as they host Bournemouth on Monday night.

Ugarte is unlikely to make the starting XI of Ruben Amorim at Old Trafford, with the midfielder losing his spot in the side.

The Uruguay international has featured in 10 Premier League matches for the Red Devils this term, but started just two games.

The 24-year-old was an unused substitute as Man United secured a 4-1 success at Wolverhampton Wanderers last time out.

Man Utd willing to accept Ugarte offers?

According to Football Insider, Manchester United have devised their strategy surrounding Ugarte ahead of the January transfer window.

The report claims that the Red Devils are willing to accept suitable offers for the midfielder during the New Year trading point.

It is understood that Ugarte is not up to the standards set by head coach Amorim, who wants more gifted players in the engine room.

As a result, it is believed that funds from the sale of the Uruguay man will be used to fuel transfer swoops in 2026.

Man Utd are said to have a number of high-profile targets, including Nottingham Forest and England midfielder Elliot Anderson.

Unsuccessful Manchester move

With the team still under the reign of Erik ten Hag, Ugarte made the switch from Paris Saint-Germain to Manchester United in August 2024.

Known for his aggressiveness and ball-winning ability, the 24-year-old was meant to be the beating heart of an improved Red Devils midfield.

However, Ugarte has fallen massively out of favour with Amorim, who prefers Brazilian legend Casemiro on the pitch.
