Manchester United will reportedly be working with a severely limited budget in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic this summer.

Manchester United are reportedly set to face a significant blow to their summer transfer budget as football feels the effect of the coronavirus pandemic.

At a time when the Red Devils have been linked with moves for highly-coveted players such as Timo Werner and Jadon Sancho, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is supposedly hoping to ship out several members of his squad in order to raise the required funds.

However, the Evening Standard reports that the trio of Chris Smalling, Alexis Sanchez and Marcos Rojo are unlikely to see their loan deals made permanent in the wake of the ongoing outbreak.

Estudiantes manager Leandro Desabato has admitted that Rojo is likely to return to Old Trafford this summer, while Smalling and Sanchez could struggle to secure permanent moves to Roma and Inter Milan respectively.

As a result, Solskjaer's side will supposedly be working with a severely limited budget during a summer transfer window where swaps and loan deals are likely to become commonplace.

A recent report claimed that United were willing to negotiate a swap deal with Borussia Dortmund to secure Sancho's signature.
