Manchester United and Arsenal reportedly prepare to go head-to-head for the signature of Bayern Munich midfielder Corentin Tolisso, who is out of contract next year.

Manchester United and Arsenal are reportedly prepared to do battle for the signature of Bayern Munich midfielder Corentin Tolisso.

The 27-year-old has less than 12 months left to run on his deal with the Bundesliga champions and has supposedly been told by Nagelsmann that his opportunities this season will be few and far between.

As a result, Tolisso is expected to complete a permanent move away from the Allianz Arena this summer, and German outlet Bild claims that Arsenal and Man United have been alerted to his availability.

Man United could be in the market for additions to their engine room should Paul Pogba ultimately depart this summer, although Paris Saint-Germain's recent swoop for Lionel Messi has cast doubt over the Frenchman's proposed move to his homeland.

Arsenal, meanwhile, have strengthened their midfield with the addition of Albert Sambi Lokonga, but Thomas Partey is set to miss the remainder of August with an ankle injury.

Tolisso, who could reportedly be available for as little as £8.5m this summer, claimed three goals from 24 appearances in all competitions during the 2020-21 season.
