Andy Cole warns Manchester United: 'Sign Radamel Falcao'

Manchester United must sign struggling striker Radamel Falcao on a permanent basis, says former hitman Andy Cole.

Former Manchester United hitman Andy Cole believes that it is in the club's best interest to sign the misfiring Radamel Falcao on a permanent deal this summer.

The Colombian has struggled to hit the heights expected of him during his season-long loan from AS Monaco, netting just four times in 25 Premier League appearances.

Consequently, speculation is rife that United will not take up the option to sign him, but Cole says that the 29-year-old will "definitely" rediscover the talismanic form that helped him build his reputation.

"I don't know whether United will keep him. The powers that be are considering it," Cole told The Express. "If he doesn't stay here next year and he goes somewhere else, he will score goals.

"You don't stop scoring goals because you have an injury or whatever. It might take a little bit longer to recover from the injury but once you get injured it doesn't mean you stop.

"He will score goals wherever. If he doesn't stay here he will definitely do that."

Cole netted 121 goals throughout his six-year stint at Old Trafford.
