Everton manager David Moyes is believed to be the favourite to replace Sir Alex Ferguson as Manchester United manager, according to reports.

Ferguson announced on Wednesday that he will retire as the club's manager at the end of the season after 26 years in charge at Old Trafford.

Several high-profile names have been linked with the vacant role, but, according to Sky Sports News, Everton manager David Moyes is the frontrunner to take over from the 71-year-old.

Moyes is out of contract at Goodison Park at the end of the season, and he has yet to agree a new deal with the Merseyside club.

Other names to be linked with the Old Trafford job include Real Madrid coach Jose Mourinho and Borussia Dortmund boss Jurgen Klopp.
