Victory for Manchester United at Blackburn Rovers this evening will open up a five-point advantage at the top of the Premier League table. Here, Sports Mole examines their chances of taking all three points against their hosts.

Manchester United travel to Blackburn Rovers this evening knowing that a victory will put five points between themselves at the top of the Premier League table and rivals Manchester City in second.

Their chances of achieving a positive result have been boosted by the news that centre-back Rio Ferdinand has been passed fit following a back complaint.

However, Portuguese winger Nani has failed to recover from an ankle injury and will play no part against Rovers.

The home side have injury concerns of their own, with Gael Givet unlikely to feature because of a hamstring strain.

Rovers have lost just two of their previous nine homes clashes against the Red Devils.

A win for Steve Kean's men will see them move three points clear of the relegation zone.
