Manchester United are reportedly ready to confirm that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will be appointed as the club's new permanent manager.

Manchester United have reportedly decided to appoint Ole Gunnar Solskjaer as the club's new permanent manager.

United handed the reins to Solskjaer when Jose Mourinho was sacked in December, but the Norwegian was only expected to remain in charge until the end of the season.

However, Solskjaer has won 14 of his 17 matches which includes a sensational 3-1 victory over Paris Saint-Germain on Tuesday night, a result which saw United progress through to the Champions League quarter-finals on away goals.

Solskjaer has been widely lauded by his players and according to The Mirror, United are ready to confirm that the 46-year-old will stay in the dugout at Old Trafford.

The report claims that Solskjaer will be given a £7.5m-per-year salary, which is half of what predecessor Mourinho earned during his time at the club.
