Manchester United could take on Premier League rivals Chelsea in a pre-season friendly in the United States this summer, after both sides agreed to participate in the 2015 Champions Cup.
The Red Devils will defend their title, in a competition which saw them attract a record-breaking attendance for a football match in the States last August when they took on European champions Real Madrid.
Joining United and Chelsea will be Barcelona, Fiorentina, Porto, Paris Saint-Germain and Club America, plus Major League Soccer sides LA Galaxy and New York Red Bulls.
None of the fixtures, dates or venues for the high-profile tournament have been confirmed, although last year it finished just a fortnight before the start of the new season.
