Manchester United attacker Bruno Fernandes praises his teammates for their response to falling two goals behind against Leeds United.

Bruno Fernandes has hailed Manchester United's 'fighting spirit', with the team coming from two goals behind to draw 2-2 with Leeds United in the Premier League on Wednesday night.

The Red Devils were two goals behind in the early stages of the second half at Old Trafford, with Willy Gnonto's strike and an own goal from Raphael Varane putting Leeds in charge of the contest.

However, the 20-time English champions managed to secure a share of the spoils on home soil, as Marcus Rashford and Jadon Sancho both scored in the space of eight second-half minutes.

Man United had opportunities to win the match late on but were ultimately made to settle for a point against their relegation-threatened opponents.

"Rapha [Raphael Varane] had the chance, I had a chance with my header that I could have scored," Fernandes told MUTV. "I also had a shot that was a deviation and Victor [Lindelof] almost got his head [to one], we had our chances.

"Unfortunately we didn't score but you could see the team was there for the fight and it's just about carrying on and doing our best, as I think this team has margin to improve and margin to show many good things and we will.

"At this stadium with these fans, these players, with the desire and the passion that we have, being 2-0 down will never be a problem.

"It can't happen to be 2-0 down but whenever we do go down it will never be a problem to fight back and turnaround the result, even more at home.

"Massive appreciation for the fans for what they did, they pushed until the very end and we could have won the game.

"We both deserved that win but as I said, at this house, with these players and the passion of the fans and the passion of the players, with the attitude of the players, it will never be a problem to be down or 0-0 in the last few minutes. We will always fight back."

Man United are now unbeaten at Old Trafford in all competitions since the start of September, while they have not lost at home in the Premier League since the 2-1 reverse to Brighton & Hove Albion on the opening weekend of the new campaign.

Erik ten Hag's side are also unbeaten in their five games since the 3-2 loss at Arsenal, and they will be bidding to return to winning ways when they head to Elland Road for the second of two quick-fire games with Leeds.
