Everton, Aston Villa and Newcastle United will reportedly rival each other for the signature of Manchester City defender Joleon Lescott this summer.

Everton, Newcastle United and Aston Villa are poised to battle for the signature of Manchester City defender Joleon Lescott in the summer, according to a report.

The Mirror reports that the England international has been told that he can leave City at the end of the season.

A bid of around £4m will be enough to secure the services of the former Toffees defender, who has fallen out of contention at the Etihad Stadium.

The 31-year-old was also linked with Queens Park Rangers in the January transfer window, but City boss Roberto Mancini didn't sanction the move.
