Manchester City centre-back Aymeric Laporte insists that he is "very happy" at the club amid suggestions that Real Madrid and Barcelona could be interested in him.

Manchester City defender Aymeric Laporte has insisted that he is "very happy" at the club amid reported interest from Real Madrid and Barcelona.

The 25-year-old has established himself as one of the most highly-rated defenders in world football since joining Man City in 2018, and his reputation has arguably been enhanced this season courtesy of their struggles in his injury-enforced absence.

As things stand Pep Guardiola's side will be banned from competing in the Champions League for the next two seasons, but Laporte shot down suggestions that he could look to leave the club if Spanish giants Madrid and Barca come knocking.

"I am very happy here at Manchester City. I am enjoying my football here," he told El Chiringuito.

"We are doing great things here. In the last two years we have won eight trophies."

Laporte has been limited to just eight appearances across all competitions this season, all but one of which Man City have won.
