Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola says that Yaya Toure will not play until the midfielder's agent Dimitri Seluk apologises.

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has claimed that Yaya Toure will not be selected to play until his agent Dimitri Seluk issues an apology.

Guardiola, who sold Toure when the pair were at Barcelona in 2010, is unhappy with the midfielder's representative after he did not take kindly to his client being left out of City's Champions League squad.

Seluk was quoted as saying that Toure's exclusion would result in "millions of supporters" from Africa switching their allegiance to Manchester United.

He also called on Guardiola to 'have the balls' to apologise for 'humiliating' Toure if the team fail to win this season's Champions League.

In today's press conference, Guardiola told reporters that Toure will not play for City until he receives an apology from his player's agent.

"It was so difficult for me to leave [Toure] out of the Champions League squad," The Mirror quotes Guardiola as saying.

"I know him, he is a good guy, but the day after [Seluk] spoke, he was out. Until he doesn't speak, he is not going to play."

It is unwelcome news for the 33-year-old, who has not yet made an appearance for the North-West outfit in the Premier League this season.

Guardiola's comments came after Toure announced his retirement from international duty with Ivory Coast.
