Javi Gracia: 'Ignacio Camacho is indispensable'

Malaga boss Javi Gracia says that Ignacio Camacho is "an indispensable player" for the club.

Malaga boss Javi Gracia has insisted that the Spanish club will not be forced into the sale of Ignacio Camacho.

The 24-year-old has been one of the standout performers in La Liga this season, with reports claiming that a number of clubs are interested in signing the Spaniard.

However, Gracia is confident that the midfielder will remain at Malaga for the foreseeable future.

"[Ignacio] Camacho was progressing very well before I got here. I think this year he's become even better, and for me he's an indispensable player," Gracia told AS.

"He's very important to our project. Sometimes there's the impression that I say one thing and the club does another, but we're all in the same boat.

"So when you say 'yes' or 'no' to someone leaving [the club], it's knowing that the team can be weakened [as a result] and trying to find a way to reinforce the team. We're all on the same wavelength. Decisions are always made for the good of the club."

Camacho admitted earlier this month that he could leave his current club at the end of the season.
