Ligue 1 side Lyon have insisted that Yoann Gourcuff might be fit to play against Sochaux when the side travel for the clash on Friday night.
Gourcuff took a knock on his knee during Lyon's 4-0 win over Nice on Saturday but played on to score his side's fourth late on.
Les Gones coach Remi Garde said that a scan showed there was water on Gourcuff's knee following the game, but that the player has now recovered.
"Yoann was hit at the top of the tibia, where it meets the knee, L'Equipe quotes Garde as saying.
"A scan showed the presence of water in the region, but he has recovered very well and is on track.
"I hope he can train normally on Thursday and if this is the case he will be able to play against Sochaux."
Lyon's game against Sochaux kicks off on Friday night at 7.30pm.
