Del Bosque backs Alba's Olympic call-up

Vicente del Bosque has backed Jordi Alba's inclusion in Spain's Olympics squad.

The full-back featured in all of Spain's games at Euro 2012, scoring in the final against Italy as Spain won the competition.

However, despite his busy summer, the Barcelona man has still been named in his nation's squad for the London Olympic Games.

"It will surely be Alba's last chance to go to the Games," said the 61-year-old coach.

"He has been an important player in winning Euro 2012 and it would be good for him to participate with the youngsters in that tournament.

"We are very excited, because we have a good squad. These players will be the future of the senior side and some are in it already. I hope they have a good tournament in London."

Alba officially joined Barcelona this week from Valencia, signing a five-year deal at Nou Camp.
