West Brom 'end Mamadou Sakho interest'

West Bromwich Albion have ended their interest in out-of-favour Liverpool defender Mamadou Sakho, according to reports.

Sakho has been frozen out of the Liverpool team by manager Jurgen Klopp so far this season, last appearing for the club in April.

The 26-year-old was reportedly told to leave during the summer window, but instead stayed at Anfield and has since been banished to train with the Under-23s.

West Brom were understood to be interested in the France international as they look to bolster their defensive options in January, but ESPN reports that they have now cooled their interest in the player.

The report goes on to state that Baggies boss Tony Pulis watched Sakho in action for the Under-23s against Derby County recently but was unimpressed and will no longer be making a move.

Sakho has endured a turbulent time in 2016, being handed a drugs ban that was later overturned before being sent home from Liverpool's pre-season tour of the United States for disciplinary reasons.
