A report claims that, contrary to previous speculation, Andrew Robertson is not close to agreeing fresh terms with Liverpool.

Andrew Robertson is reportedly not on the verge of signing a new Liverpool contract, contrary to previous speculation.

News emerged on Thursday morning of the Scotland international being close to putting pen to paper on fresh terms with the Reds.

According to the London Evening Standard, however, those suggestions are wide of the mark as opening talks with Robertson is not considered a priority for Liverpool chiefs.

Robertson, who has established himself as one of the key men under Jurgen Klopp since arriving from Hull City last year, is under contract at Anfield until 2021.

The report also indicates that Liverpool will not make any announcements on new contracts until 2019.
