Simon Mignolet 'to have Liverpool medical next week'

Sunderland goalkeeper Simon Mignolet has reportedly been booked in to have a medical next week ahead of a move to Liverpool.

The Belgian has been heavily linked with a switch to Anfield, despite number one shot-stopper Pepe Reina suggesting that he will stay at the club.

It is understood that negotiations between the Reds and Sunderland are close to completion, with a medical and remaining personal terms left to be finalised, according to PA Sport.

Reports have claimed that Liverpool have offered £8m for the goalkeeper.
