Liverpool to battle Manchester United, Real Madrid for Boubakary Soumare?

Liverpool are reportedly prepared to battle both Manchester United and Real Madrid for the signature of Lille midfielder Boubakary Soumare during this summer's transfer window.

The 21-year-old was linked with a move away from Lille during the January transfer window, but the deadline passed with the Frenchman still at Stade Pierre-Mauroy.

Man United and Madrid are both thought to be interested in completing a summer deal for the France Under-21 international.

However, according to Le 10 Sport, Liverpool are also firmly in the race for a player who has made 30 appearances for Les Dogues during the 2019-20 campaign.

A recent report claimed that Reds boss Jurgen Klopp was 'in love' with the midfielder, who has little over two years remaining on his current deal with Christophe Galtier's side.

Soumare is also thought to be a target for Newcastle United, with the Magpies seemingly on the verge of securing significant investment.
